Our Factory.
Every pair of Meanforme shoes is made in Northern Portugal, in the heart of one of Europe's great shoemaking regions.

Making shoes since 1938.
Every pair of Meanforme shoes begins in Northern Portugal, where we partner with a family-founded factory whose heritage stretches back to 1938. Established by a young local cobbler, it is one of the oldest factories in Felgueiras—a town that has grown into the heart of Portuguese shoemaking, renowned worldwide for its craftsmanship.
Behind every pair is a team of skilled makers — people who cut, stitch, shape, form and finish our shoes every day. Traditional shoemaking skills sit alongside modern production techniques, allowing us to make footwear in a way that combines consistency with the character that can only come from working by hand. Some processes take minutes. Others take considerably longer. Our hand-stitched natural crepe soles, for example, can take almost an hour for a single pair.
In 2023 our factory obtained Global Recycled Standard certification, an acknowledgement of the way in which we have used recycled materials and adopted more responsible methods of production. For us sustainability is not a matter of making broad statements; it is about constantly examining the materials we use, the way in which our shoes are made and the areas in which improvements can be made.
