Risedale – Men's Suede & Leather Boots with Natural Crepe Soles
Risedale is where Meanforme began. Designed in Manchester as our interpretation of a relaxed men's two-eyelet boot, it established many of the details that have since become signatures of our footwear: premium leathers and suedes, lightweight construction, removable cushioned footbeds and hand-stitched natural crepe rubber soles.
The Original Meanforme
The original Risedale Suede is handcrafted from premium Italian reverse suede and left fully unlined, allowing the substantial leather to remain soft, flexible and naturally comfortable around the foot. Over time, the collection has grown to include full-leather versions and distinctive long-hair leathers, each bringing a different texture and character to the original Risedale shape.
Lightweight Strobel Construction
Risedale uses Strobel construction, a lightweight method in which the upper is stitched to a flexible base rather than built around a traditional rigid insole board. Combined with the soft upper materials and removable cushioned footbed, this creates the relaxed, flexible feel that has defined Risedale from the beginning.
Hand-Stitched Natural Crepe
Underfoot, every Risedale is finished with a 6mm natural crepe rubber sole, carefully formed and hand-stitched to the upper. The process takes our skilled craftspeople around an hour for each pair, creating a flexible, cushioned sole with the distinctive natural character of genuine crepe rubber.
The Risedale Collection
Alongside the original suede and leather versions, Risedale Quin introduces a distinctive split-vamp design, while Risedale Stitch, Risedale Q and Risedale Pony explore different combinations of stitching, colour and premium leather without losing the character of the original.
